if I run fast enough, could I break apart (Cassandra)
Since 2015, I have sounded the alarm on the rising fascism in the U.S. I called Trump a fascist from the time he opened his mouth on the GOP stage. Black women, queer folks, Indigenous people, People of Color, disabled folks have been screaming the warning, only to be told we’re overreacting. Figuring this out in 2015 was, by all accounts, arriving late to the party. Still, the last decade has felt like going mad, crying like Cassandra among those who cannot or will not hear. This piece is heavily inspired by the song “Cassandra” by Florence + the Machine, a COVID-era song about going mad from isolation and growing despair.
“if I run fast enough, could I break apart” is part of THE FAILURE EXPERIMENT. It is a 20 × 20-inch mixed media paintings on canvas. It is finished with UV archival spray-on varnish and sold unframed.
We make every attempt to represent colors as accurately as possible, but be aware that differences among screens and paint pigments may result in variations. Please read our Shipping and Return Policy before purchasing.
