The Brilliant Light of Truth
This piece is a mighty piece of my artistic journey.
This is the first large canvas I ever brought to a pop-up gallery, in 2019. I dusted it off and gave it a little facelift, and now it’s in the shop! This piece features many bits that have become staples in my artistic practice: bubble wrap mark making, lots of gesso, scribbly lines, vintage book pages. I really love the eyeball from the science book peeking through the layers of gesso!
Because this piece has been lingering in the studio, the sale price is set to the prices for the year I made it!
The Brilliant Life of Truth is a 20×20-inch mixed media pieces on canvas. I used a mix of antique, vintage, and contemporary reclaimed paper, ink, pencil, water-soluble graphite, and acrylic paint. The antique photo is a reprint, and is finished with faux-encaustic technique using acrylic medium.
We make every attempt to represent colors as accurately as possible, but be aware that differences among screens and paint pigments may result in variations. Please read our Shipping and Return Policy before purchasing.
